SEMINAR ON “TRANSFER PRICING IN BANGLADESH: A NEW BEGINNING OF CROSS BORDER TAX AND TRANSPARENCY”

On February 16, 2017 a seminar titled “Transfer Pricing in Bangladesh: A new beginning of cross border tax and transparency” was organized by the Department of Accounting & Finance to give students an overview of transfer pricing concept in Bangladesh. The seminar was arranged by Mr. Niaz Mohammad, Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business Administration. The key speaker was Mr. Suprim Ahammed ACA, Manager KPMG, Rahman Rahman Huq Chartered Accountants. The seminar provides the overall idea of transfer pricing, regulations, methods of transfer pricing, major transfer pricing issues for MNCs and legal framework of transfer pricing in Bangladesh. Mr. Suprim also discussed about the importance of professional degrees in accounting and finance and shared his own experience to the students. Mr. Suprim’s lively and interactive presentation makes this session productive. At the end of seminar, the guest speakers answered questions asked by the students. Participation of students from major courses like cost accounting and advance financial accounting made the seminar more informative.

The program started with a welcome speech by Professor Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Director of MBA program. At the end of the seminar, Mohammad Faridul Alam, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Accounting & Finance, expressed his Vote of thanks to the key Speaker. The Programs concluded with the distribution of gifts to the guests, as a token of appreciation. The Accounting & Finance Department respectfully acknowledges the generous support from AIUB management to make this program a success.
