Seminar on “The Role of Accounting Profession in the Era of 4th Industrial Revolution”

The Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business Administration organized a seminar on the role of the accounting profession in the Era of 4th industrial revolution in the media studio [Annex 2] from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm on August 09, 2023. The seminar was entirely organized for the students of the Financial Accounting and Principles of Accounting course.

The key speaker was Abdullah Al Mamun, FCA, Director, ACNABIN, Chartered Accountants. He shared the role of the accounting profession in the era of the 4th industrial revolution and gave an overview of the CA Profession in Bangladesh. Then he discussed some key aspects and threats to the accountant's role in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution. The content of the seminar covers the Sustainable development goal (SDG) especially SDG-4 (Quality education) and SDG -9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). It was an interactive session and students actively participated in this session. Other faculty members of accounting were also present.

The seminar was arranged by Dr Md Sazzadur Rahman Khan FCMA, Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting. Dr. Kamrul Hasan, Associate Professor and Head of Accounting gave the welcome speech. At the end of the session, Dr Rezbin Nahar, Director Undergraduate Program (BBA) and Dr Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director [MBA and EMBA Program] gave a vote of thanks and provided a certificate as well as a token gift to the key speaker.
