Seminar on “The Interaction between Monetary and Fiscal policy in Bangladesh”
The Department of Economics of American International University-Bangladesh organized a seminar on “Interaction between Fiscal and Monetary policy in Bangladesh” on 29th March, 2011. The target audience was the students of the BSS Economics and the students Majoring in Economics. The main purpose of the seminar was to introduce the students with the practical knowledge and practice of monetary and fiscal policies in Bangladesh. The seminar took place in the Auditorium from 12:30 p.m. the duration of which was two hours. The program started with the welcome address of the honorable Dean of FASS, Dr. Tajul Islam. The guest speaker of the seminar was Dr. Ezazul Islam, DGM, Research Department, Bangladesh Bank. Dr. Matiur Rahman, Associate Dean, faculty of Business Administration, and many other faculty members of the De[artment of Economics were also present at the seminar.
The seminar was a very interesting and knowledgeable one for all the audience. The students as well as the teachers got the opportunity to learn about real practices and impacts of fiscal and monetary policy in Bangladesh. The lecture ended with a lively question-answer session. The students were very happy to join the seminar and the guest speaker expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Department of Economics for the invitation and hospitality.
At the end of the seminar, Dr. Aminul Islam, of Department of Economics, delivered the vote of thanks. The guest speaker was given a certificate of appreciation and some souvenirs from the university. The event was coordinated by Mr. Rezwanul Hasan Rana, a faculty of the Department of Economics.
