Seminar on ‘Supporting Digital Bangladesh Initiative: A Microsoft Approach’
On February 11, 2010 AIUB participated in a seminar that as a part of the BASIS SoftExpo being held at the BICC’s “Windy Town”. This seminar was co-organized by Microsoft and BASIS and the title was ‘Supporting Digital Bangladesh Initiative: A Microsoft Approach’.
Mr. Neil Jackson, Senior Director, Education and Mr. Gabe Rijpma, Health Industry Director, Asia Pacific HQ of Microsoft spoke on Microsoft’s response to 21st Century Learning Challenges and Anticipation of the Future Healthcare in the seminar. Mr. Imran Al-Amin, Manager, Public Sector, Microsoft Bangladesh started the seminar with his welcome speech along with Mr. Syed Mamnun Quader, Senior Vice President of BASIS.
In the IT Showcase section, Mr. Danilo G. Morgia, Asst. Professor and Coordinator of IT and Mr. Manzur H Khan, Asst. Professor and Director, Office of Student Affairs of AIUB showcased AIUB’s Virtual University Management System (VUMS). Before the showcase a presentation on AIUB, its solid IT and Information Systems Infrastructure and strong linkage with Microsoft were also presented.
In the question/ answer session Mr. Imran Al-Amin, Mr. Neil Jackson and Mr. Syed Mamnun answered numerous queries of the audience. The VUMS of AIUB was also highly appreciated by the audience and guests.
