Seminar on “Strategic Management & Technology in Business”

A seminar entitled “Strategic Management & Technology in Business” on July 27th, 2010 was organized by Mr. Khorshed Ahmed Talukdar, Assistant Professor of the Department of Operations Management, AIUB. Honorable Dean of Faculty of Business Administration, Dr. Charles C. Villanueva was the chief guest at the seminar. He delivered the welcome speech with his inspiring and motivational words. Mr. Shaiful Chowdhury, Head of Planning and Analysis, BRAC Bank was the guest speaker of this seminar. Dr. Matiur Rahman, BBA Program Director, Mr. Zobair Shibli, Head of Operations Management and many other faculty members were also present at the seminar.

Mr. Shaiful Chowdhury spoke about strategic management as a set of managerial decisions and actions that determines the long-run performance of an organization. He also talked about strategic management process, elements of strategic management, process of decision making, the role of IT, business level strategy, IT/IS strategies and the role of vendors, IT based strategic support systems, executive support systems and the results of the right blend of technologies in strategic management processes.
