The Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), AIUB, organized a seminar on "Socially Innovative Interventions in Emerging Markets: The BRAC Experience" on 26th November 2017 in Annex 2 of Permanent Campus from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. The target audience of the seminar was the students of the Courses – Rural Marketing and Global Tarde. To enhance the students’ academic learning, Mr. Rakib Avi, Programme Manager, Social Innovation Lab, BRAC gave an informative speech and shared his valuable expertise on development interventions by Non-Government Organizations in emerging nations. He has a rich professional background on successful implementation of socially innovative projects, particularly in the field of social enterprise.
During the seminar, Mr. Rakib presented an overview on the NGO interventions in Bangladesh and other nations in South Asian region. In addition to this, he also shared the socio-economic initiatives of BRAC to enhance peoples’ living standard. The highlight of the session was presenting some case studies on successful implementation of social enterprises in different sectors. The seminar was indeed a fruitful knowledge sharing forum that was followed by a question-answer session from the participating students. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks to the Guest Speaker given by Mr. A K M Kamrul Haque, senior Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing. In order to appreciate such seminar on academic-industry collaboration, Mr. Rakib Avi was provided with a Certificate of Appreciation by Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Pro Vice Chancellor & Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, accompanied by Ms. Farheen Hassan, Director BBA Program & Dr. Khondaker Sazzadul Karim, Coordinator, Department of Marketing.
