On Thursday, November 20, 2025, the IEEE AIUB Student Branch successfully organized a seminar titled Pathways to the Semiconductor Industry, aimed to provide key insights into the semiconductor industry and enhance the academic knowledge of engineering students.

The program commenced with the distinguished speaker, Mr. Sajeed Mohammad Shariat, Senior Product Development Engineer, Advance Micro Devices (AMD) inc. introducing himself and speaking about his educational background. He elaborated on how AMD Inc. operates and gave a brief about the similar industries like TSMC, intel and NVDIA. He reflected on his own course works during his Graduate Study and put emphasis on the importance of basic courses here taught in AIUB that students take during engineering studies to set foot in the industry. The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where Mr. Sajeed addressed various queries from enthusiastic participants, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas.

Following the Q&A session, Prof. Dr. A.B.M Siddique Hossain, Dean, FE, AIUB delivered the closing remarks by thanking the speaker for his enlightening session as well as the IEEE AIUB Student Branch for organizing the seminar. Afterwards, a token of appreciation was presented to the speaker by Prof. Dr. A.B.M Siddique Hossain along with Dr. Shahriyar Masud Rizvi, Associate Professor, Dept. of EEE, FE & Deputy Director, Dr. Anwarul Abedin Institute of Innovation, AIUB.   

The event started at 3:30 PM and concluded at 4:30 PM (GMT +6). A total of over 50 participants attended the program.
