On November 01, 2009, the Department of Operations Management and Quantitative (OM & Q), organized a seminar on “Operations Planning”. This program was a continuation of the series of seminars and interactions with industries, undertaken by the department of OM&Q for the academic year 2009-2010.
The key speaker at the seminar was Mr. Sayeed Hassan, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of RAHIMAFROOZ ENERGY STORAGE DIVISION, one of the leading names in Bangladesh in the area of batteries and renewable energy. Mr. Hassan started with an introduction on RahimAfrooz Group and its’ organizational structure and activities. Thereafter he explained to the audience, who were mostly students majoring in operations management, about the practical applications of OM in industry.
Mr. Sayeed Hassan, having a rich background in OM after working for Phillips and TYCO at home and abroad and now for RahimAfrooz, was able to shed light on the vast opportunities for BBA students wanting to specialize in operations management.
The address of welcome was delivered by Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Dean-Faculty of Business Administration. The program ended with presentation of certificate of appreciation & crest to the guest and a vote of thanks from Mr. Zubair Shibli, Head of the Dept. of Operations Management and Quantitative. The other guests present at the seminar were the Director for Undergraduate Program-FBA and other distinguished faculties of AIUB. |
