Seminar on Local and Global Market: Scenario, Prospects and Challenges

The Faculty of Business Administration, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a Seminar on Local and Global Market: Scenario, Prospects and Challenges on Friday, December 4 at the AIUB Auditorium in the FBA Building with the existing EMBA students. The resource persons for the program were Mr. Aftab Mahmud Khurshed, Group Chief Marketing Officer & Business Development Head, Super Star Group (SSG) Ltd, Mr. A.H. M. Kamal, MBA , FCMA, Head HR Operations and Performance Management, IFIC Bank and Prof. Dr. Arne Fagerstrom, Visiting Professor from University of Gavle, Sweden.

 

The main objective of the seminar was to highlight the prospect and potential in the job market in Bangladesh and around the world for the EMBA graduates. The resource persons briefed the students who are already in the professional world in various capacities about the different aspects which they need to consider before choosing their goal and planning their career. They highlighted the importance of ethical standards and competence as important factors, which students must uphold when in employment. They were advised to have very good understanding about the background, culture, management style before they intend to pursue their career in their desired industry. The speakers emphasized on doing extensive homework and preparation for making the executives worthy of their dream job. Their briefings were followed by a lively question answer session, where the students asked a wide range of questions. The Seminar was moderated by Mr. R. Tareque Moudud FCMA, Director, Office of Placement & Alumni. The Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva warmly welcomed the resource persons, students and faculty to the program with his brief insights on the importance of career guidance in the educational development process of the students. Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Director MBA/EMBA program also welcomed the participants with his inaugural speech and later on assisted the Dean in presenting Certificates of Appreciation and AIUB souvenir items to the resource persons.
