The Department of Operations Management organized a seminar on “LEADERSHIP THROUGH SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT” in the AIUB auditorium on February 07, 2015. The guest speaker in the seminar was Mr. Ejazur Rahman, Regional Chief Executive Officer - International Supply Chain Educational Alliance (ISCEA-Asia) and Managing Director - Mind Mapper Bangladesh. Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Pro Vice Chancellor & Dean, Faculty of Business Administration and the chief guest of the seminar, delivered the welcome speech with his inspiring and motivational words. Mr. Ejazur Rahman highlighted the knowledge areas of Supply Chain Management and their necessity in becoming victorious business organization. He shared his valuable experience as a supply chain manager, consultant and trainer in large MNCs and local conglomerates at home and abroad for 16 years. Also he highlighted different professional certification program offered under ISCEA, The International Supply Chain Education Alliance, in Bangladesh. The students were encouraged to achieve certification, as several MBA students of Operations Management have received ISCEA -CSCA, very recently. Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Director of MBA Program & Head, Department of Operations Management, and several other faculty members of Operations Management department were also present in the in the seminar. Dr. Nisar Ahmed concluded the session with his speech and presented a certificate of appreciation with AIUB’s souvenir  to the guest speaker. The event was coordinated and hosted by Mr. Ashfaque A. Mohib and Mr. Sultanul Nahian Hasnat, Assistant Professors, Department of Operations Management. ISCEA, The International Supply Chain Education Alliance, with its headquarter in the USA, conducts many workshops to improve the knowledge of manufacturing and service industry professionals worldwide in area of Total Supply Chain Management. The mission of ISCEA is to be a single source for Total Supply Chain Knowledge through Education, Certification, and Recognition. ISCEA is the developer of internationally recognized certification programs of Certified Supply Chain Manager (CSCM), Certified Supply Chain Analyst (CSCA), Certified Lean Master (CLM), and Certified RFID Master (RFIDSCM). ISCEA is the governing body for the PTAK Prize. The members of ISCEA hold mid to upper supply chain management positions in Global 2000 companies. It is notable to mention that at least six MBA students from Operations Management Department have received their CSCA certificates after completion of regular AIUB Supply Chain Management course and ISCEA workshop with International online exam. In 2014 ISCEA offered 400 awards worth over US$ 2,64,000, under ISCEA Ptak Prize scholarship program, for the young professionals and students of Bangladesh.
