On Monday 26th November, 2012, a seminar titled “International Trade Payment Mechanism (under and without L/C)” was held in the Dept. Economics of AIUB at the AIUB auditorium. The seminar was organized and conducted by Mr. Rezwanul Hasan Rana, lecturer, Economics. The purpose of this seminar was to introduce the students with the payment apparatuses of international trade.The keynote speech was delivered by Md. Muniruzzaman Mollah, Vice President, Head of Cash Department, CITI Bank N. A.
The event started with an overview of the course global finance and economics of money, banking and financial markets and how the topic is related to these courses. Dr. Ahmed Neaz, concluded the seminar with closing notes and Dr. A. B. M. Rahmatullah presented souvenir items to Md. Muniruzzaman Mollah.
The guest speaker lectured about letter of credit process, forwarding letter , draft/ bill of exchange LC advising, application and collection all the rules and regulations regarding international trade payment.
