Seminar on “Income Tax Planning & Online Tax Payment System for Better Compliance – Bangladesh Panorama”

Department of Accounting, American International University – Bangladesh organized a seminar on “Income Tax Planning & Online Tax Payment System for Better Compliance – Bangladesh Panorama” on 20th march, 2011. The target audience was the students of the course taxation who were mainly the majoring students in accounting and finance. The seminar was arranged to give the students an overview of tax planning techniques and the current status of the online tax payment system practiced in Bangladesh. The seminar took place in room no. 132 from 09:30 a.m. for one and half an hour. The program started with the welcome address of the honorable head of the Department of Accounting, Mr. Mohammad Zakaria Masud. The resource persons of the seminar were Mr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, faculty, Department of Accounting and Mr. Rezwanul Alam, faculty, Department of Management. The topic was very interesting and resourceful covering the concept of individual income tax planning and its advantage in tax compliance in Bangladesh. The scholars have shown their mastery by bringing various income tax planning techniques under the scope of Bangladesh Income Tax laws and rules. They have also presented the current online tax payment procedure in Bangladesh with a number of suggestions for further improvement. The lecture was ended with a lively question-answer session. The students were very happy to join the seminar and the resource persons expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Department of Accounting for the invitation and hospitality. At the end of the seminar, the resource speakers were given a certificate of appreciation.
