Seminar on Higher Education
A seminar on higher education entitled “A Higher Education Index: Planning, Scope & Opportunities” was held on Monday, 9th September, 2013. The seminar started at 3:30 in the afternoon. The event was organized by IEEE AIUB Student Branch. The objective of the seminar was to help and inform students about the opportunities available to them in terms of higher education and to make a better plan ahead for the future.
The keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain. Mr. Akram is currently pursuing his Ph.D in Politecnico di Milano, Italy and working with Alstom transport as a researcher. He is a Senior lecturer (on Leave) at EEE Department of AIUB. He completed both his masters and undergraduate degrees from AIUB.
The seminar was also graced by the presence of faculty members from EEE department Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Asst. Prof., Faculty of Engg. and Special Asst. of OSA), Mr. Md. Mamunur Rashid (Lecturer, Faculty of Engg.), Mr. Rethwan Faiz (Lecturer, Faculty of Engg.) and Ms. Tajbia Karim (Lecturer, Faculty of Engg.) .
The Speaker presented the audience with a detailed picture regarding the scope of higher education, the scenario abroad and the obstacles faced by students while applying abroad and how to overcome these hurdles. The Speaker also discussed the various research opportunities available abroad. The speaker also explained in detail the various prospects of Politecnico Di Milano. The seminar ended with an interactive Q/A session.
