On Thursday, July 24, 2025, a seminar was held at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), featuring a presentation by Shibaji Mridha titled "Toxic Cityscape, Slow Violence, and Necropolitics: 'Storied' Air in Animal’s People and Moth Smoke." Moderated by Professor Dr. Md. Asif Kamal, the session explored the ways in which literature reflects themes of environmental degradation, systemic violence, and necropolitical control in urban contexts. The research paper was originally presented at the ASLE 2025 Biennial Conference, Collective Atmospheres: Air, Intimacy, and Inequality, with the support of a travel grant provided by AIUB to encourage faculty research activities. The seminar provided a valuable platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and critical engagement. It was organized by the FASS Faculty Research Committee (FRC) in collaboration with the Office of Research.
