On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, the IEOM AIUB Student Chapter successfully organized a seminar titled ‘Engineering the Future: Student Life, Career Horizon, and the Future of IPE’ at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The seminar brought together students and faculty members to discuss the evolving landscape of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE), career opportunities, and the skills required to excel in the engineering profession. The program commenced with opening remarks by Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Professor and Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB. In his welcoming speech, he encouraged students to remain committed to continuous learning, embrace emerging opportunities in engineering, and actively prepare themselves for the dynamic challenges of the modern industrial sector. He emphasized the importance of professional development and lifelong learning in building a successful engineering career.

The keynote session was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr Abu Taher, Chairman of the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering and Additional Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), European University of Bangladesh. During his presentation, he shared his experiences and provided an in-depth discussion on the diverse career opportunities available to IPE graduates. He highlighted the expanding role of industrial engineers in manufacturing, service industries, supply chain management, quality assurance, and emerging technological sectors. He also discussed the importance of strategic career planning, skill development, industry exposure, and lifelong learning in building a successful career. His engaging presentation encouraged students to explore new opportunities and prepare themselves to meet the evolving demands of the engineering profession.

At the conclusion of the seminar, Dr. Md. Ehasanul Haque, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering, AIUB, and Mahamudul Hassan, Assistant Professor, AIUB presented a commemorative crest to the keynote speaker as a token of appreciation for his valuable contribution and inspiring session.

The seminar concluded with a group photograph featuring the keynote speaker, faculty members, organizers, and participants. The event served as an excellent platform for students to gain practical career guidance, interact with experienced academicians, and develop a broader understanding of the future direction of Industrial and Production Engineering.
