The Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), AIUB, successfully organized a career-focused seminar titled “Engineering Intelligence at Scale”, held as a collaborative initiative between bKash Limited and AIUB Computer Club.
The seminar featured two distinguished speakers from bKash Limited: Mr. Shuvro Sarker, Senior Vice President of Advanced Research & Engineering, and Mr. Mazharul Islam, General Manager of Advanced Research & Engineering under the Product & Technology Division. Mr. Mazharul is a proud alumnus of AIUB. Both speakers shared valuable industry insights and practical knowledge with the students.
During the session, the speakers discussed the evolution of technology over the years, with a strong emphasis on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in the tech industry. They highlighted that AI is not a replacement for programmers; rather, it serves as a powerful tool that enhances productivity and enables developers to work more efficiently. Their discussion provided students with a clear understanding of how to adapt and succeed in an AI-driven environment.
A key highlight of the seminar was the introduction of “bTechWhiz”, a flagship recruitment and development platform by bKash Limited designed for aspiring tech professionals. The speakers elaborated on how this initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating by sharing their queries and receiving insightful responses from the speakers. The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of nearly 200 students from the Faculty of Science and Technology.
The program was graced by the presence of Mr. Mashiour Rahman, Dean in Charge of the Faculty of Science & Technology, who delivered the opening remarks, encouraging students to prepare themselves for the evolving demands of the technology sector. The event was also attended by Mr. Abhijit Bhowmik, Special Assistant, Faculty of Science & Technology and Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, whose continuous support and guidance play a vital role in the successful execution of such initiatives, along with other respected faculty members.
The seminar concluded with a token of appreciation, where the OPA Director, Mr. R. Tareque Moudud FCMA, presented gifts to the honorable speakers on behalf of the university.
