Seminar on Effective Sales and Distribution Strategies behind the Business Success of a Popular FMCG Brand

The Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration organized a seminar entitled “Effective Sales and Distribution Strategies Behind the Business Success of a Popular FMCG Brand – From the Perspective of Polar Ice Cream”, on March 16, 2014 at the AIUB Auditorium. The Guest Speaker of the seminar was Mr. Md. Mizanoor Rahman, Head of Sales & Distribution [General Manager], Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Limited [Polar Ice Cream]. Mr. Rahman has corporate experience of more than 18 years in the field of Sales, Marketing, and Distribution. Before joining Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Ltd., he had served in different reputed local and multinational companies like Transcom Beverages Limited (Pepsi), Kallol Group of Companies & Nestle (Bangladesh) Limited etc. Moreover, he is an Alumnus of AIUB. He had completed his MBA degree Major in Marketing from this University. The seminar started with an inspiring speech from the Director, BBA Program, Mr. Abdul Kader Nazmul. After that, Mr. Rahman delivered his lecture discussion and covered specific areas like:  
  • Importance of Sales & Distribution department for an Organization.
  • Supply Chain Management process and Strategies to develop effective Sales & Distribution network for a perishable item like Ice cream.
  • Brand Repositioning Strategies of Polar Ice Cream. Current products & Brand Management Strategies like Product Line and Category Extension, Advertisements & Promotional campaigns like ATL/BTL techniques etc.
  • Opportunities for the fresh graduates in the field of Sales & Distribution and their preparations to develop a successful career in the field of Sales and Marketing, etc.
  The seminar was organized and coordinated by Mr. Hamidul Islam, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Stanley Rodrick, Assistant Professor from the Department of Marketing in co-ordination with Mr. Zobair Shibli, Head, Department of Marketing. Mr. Mahmud Habib Zaman, Ms. Tahsina Khan, Mr. Md. Golam Mostofa, Mr. Redwan Salam and Dr. Sahin Akter Sarker from the Department of Marketing and Faculty Members from other Departments were also present during the Seminar. At the end of the seminar, on behalf of the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean, Faculty of Business, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva; Dr. Ehsan Uddin Ahmed, Associate Dean, Faculty of Business Administration expressed his Vote of Thanks to the Guest Speaker and presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation and Mr. Zobair Shibli presented him a gift pack as a Token of Gratitude. Then the students and the Faculty Members were given refreshments with the newly launched delicious Ice Creams on behalf of Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Ltd.
