The Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), supported by AIUB Computer Club (ACC), successfully organized an industry-focused seminar titled “Design Thinking 101: How Real Apps Are Built”.

The session, held on Wednesday, 17th June, 2026 in the Media Studio, was specially arranged for the students of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) to provide them with practical exposure to the evolving fields of UX Design, Product Thinking, and Digital Innovation.

The seminar featured Md. Imran Uddin, UX Designer, Customer Facing Platform, Grameenphone Ltd. and AIUB Alumnus, who shared valuable insights from his professional journey and experience working on MyGP, one of Bangladesh’s most widely used digital super-apps.

Through the session, students learned how real-world digital products are designed — from identifying user needs and applying Design Thinking methodologies to developing effective and user-friendly digital interfaces. The discussion also covered UX career opportunities, industry expectations, and essential skills required to succeed in the digital product landscape.

The seminar witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 100+ students, who actively engaged throughout the session and gained meaningful insights from the industry expert. The interactive discussion and practical examples made the session highly valuable for students aspiring to build careers in technology, software development, and digital product innovation.

The event was graced by the presence of the R. Tareque Moudud FCMA, Director, Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), along with Mr. Abhijit Bhowmik, Associate Professor, whose continuous support and guidance enriched the session.

At the closing ceremony, the OPA Director and Mr. Abhijit Bhowmik presented a token of appreciation to the speaker, acknowledging his valuable contribution and sharing his industry expertise with AIUB students.

Through such initiatives, the Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA) continues its commitment to connecting students with industry professionals and creating opportunities for practical learning and career development.
