Seminar on “Design, Fabrication, and Characterization of Spintronic device and its applications”

On December 15, 2022, the AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized a seminar titled “Design, Fabrication, and Characterization of Spintronic device and its applications”. The seminar started at 11:00 AM with around 50 participants at Room No. 3202, Annex 3, AIUB. The purpose of the seminar was to provide the students with a clear idea about spintronic devices and related applications.

The program started with the inauguration speech by Mr. Nafiz Ahmed Chisty (Associate Professor & Head-In Charge (UG), Dept. of EEE, AIUB). The speaker of the seminar & Alumnus of the Department of EEE, AIUB Mr. Md Tarequzzaman (Yield Engineer (Defect),Intel Corporations, Ireland) briefly discussed about the overview of Spintronics. He highlighted the spin transfer torque applications, including three mechanisms: magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ), spin hall current generation, and spin transfer torque (STT)—tunnelling current generation. He concluded his speech with concurrent spin injection and informed everyone about the opportunities available to AIUB students at Intel. Then, a short Q/A session was held for the participants. Mr. Nafiz Ahmed Chisty concluded the seminar by thanking the speaker and presenting a token of appreciation to the speaker along with Dr. Mohammad Alif Arman (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB).
