| The Department of Operations Management, Faculty of Business Administration, American International University-Bangladesh organized a seminar entitled “Customer Lifecycle Management Systems in Robi Axiata Limited” on 22nd March 2011. The target audience was the MBA students of the courses of operations managements, business statistics & decision model, brand & product management, and research methodology. The main purpose of the seminar was to discuss customer life cycle management from a practical point of view, in a multinational telecommunication industry. The seminar took place in the AIUB Auditorium from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 pm.
The welcome address was performed by Dr. Nisar Ahmad, Director, MBA Program. The resource person of the seminar was Mr. Rana Shohel, Vice President, Technology Division, Robi Axiata Limited. Mr. Zobair Shibli, Head, Department of Operations Management, and others Faculties of MBA Program were present in the seminar. Mr. Manzur H. Khan, Director, Student Affairs, and Mr. Ziarat Hossain Khan, Deputy Director, Student Guidance, were also present in the seminar.
A short documentary, developed by Mr. Tanvir Rahman, student of AIUB, on bibliography of the valuable resources person in, Mr. Rana Shohel, was shown before seminar presentation. Robi is one of the leading mobile operators, with a customer base of more than 12 millions, in Bangladesh. The topic was very interesting covering theoretical concept and practical implementation of customer lifecycle management systems in Robi. The resource person shared his international experiences on how to acquire customers, grow their experience through many value additions, and increase their longitivity with life-time attachment with Robi. Mr. Rana Shohel also motivated the students to be an integral part of customer lifecycle management. AIUB invited students to look into internship opportunities in Robi, Axiata Limited, in this arena.
In the middle of the lecture Mr. Rana arranged a debate on “Why have you chosen the operator you use and can you interest others to switch to your operator.” Four students participated in the debate, which was very interesting, enjoyable and interactive among themselves and also with the audience.
The lecture ended with an exclusive question-answer session. The students were very happy to join the seminar and the resource persons expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Department of Operation Management for the invitation and hospitality
At the end of the seminar, Dr. Nisar Ahmad, Director MBA Program, delivered the vote of thanks and the resource speaker was given a certificate of appreciation and some souvenirs from the university. Mr. Rana Shohel also present some souvenirs from Robi to AIUB. The event was coordinated by Mr. Ashfaque A. Mohib, a faculty of the Department of Operations Management, FBA, AIUB.
