A seminar entitled “Contemporary Management Accounting Practices of Palmal Group” was organized by the Department of Accounting on April 14, 2012 in AIUB Auditorium. Mr. Md. Zakaria Masud, Head of Accounting Department delivered the welcome speech with his inspiring and motivational words. Mr. Kazi Kaoser Ahammad, Deputy General Manager, Palmal group was the guest speaker of the seminar. Mr. Ahammad with his vast experience in the industry has illustrated the whole process of cost accumulation, cost control, performance evaluation and so many other relevant and interesting issues. He has also demonstrated the costing system they have used in Palmal group and how their practices help them in different decision making scenarios.  Mr. Ahammad also responded to the different questions asked by the faculty members and students. At the end of the seminar, vote of thanks was given by the honorable dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva. Dr. Charles expressed his heartfelt thanks to Mr. Kazi Kaoser Ahammad for an enlightening lecture and the support of Palmal group extended to AIUB by providing internship placements and as a probable future employer of AIUB graduates. The  Dean presented the resource speaker a certificate of appreciation and some souvenirs of the university as gestures of thanks.
