Seminar on ‘Climate Change, Sustainable Development and New Business Model’

Marketing department of AIUB organized a day long seminar on 23rd of February, 2011 on ‘Climate Change, Sustainable Development and New Business Model’. The main purpose of the seminar was to promote awareness. It also focused on how to take initiatives on current and future issues on environment and how current business organizations are changing based on new environmental policies, laws and regulations. Students were encouraged to take initiatives to promote awareness program to the city, urban and suburban area on environmental issues. A series of lectures were presented by seven speakers. Three guest speakers were from Grameen Phone (Mr. Ariful Alam, DGM Climate Change Project), CEGIS (Dr. Ahmedul Hasan, Director) and BBC (Mr. Haris, Sales and Marketing Manager) and four speakers were from AIUB and they were Dr. Ehsanul Huda (Director, BBA &MBA), Mr. Taseen Chowdhury (Finance Dept.), Mr. Mahbub Rahman (OM Dept.), and Mr. Azad Ashraf (Marketing Dept.). A student forum also helped organizing the seminar and showed their dedication and willingness to engage in Climate Change and Sustainable development awareness program in near future. They presented a short documentary on ‘save the planet’ which showed issues that were associated with climate change and new business model. The following students were given appreciation for their effort to organize the seminar: Hassan Tanvir, Imrul Kabir, Nahian Chowdhury, Takon, S.M Tahmid, Atiqur Rahman, Sadiya Karim, A.N. Galib, Fazle Hasan and Fariza Naser.
