“SEMINAR ON CAREER PERSPECTIVES OF MIS PROFESSIONALS”
A seminar titled “Domestic & Global Career Perspectives in the field of Management Information System (MIS)” was organized by the Department of Management, HR & MIS, Faculty of Business Administration on the 28th of November 2011 in the auditorium at 7:00PM with Mr. Rana Shohel, Vice President – BI, DW & CRM Systems, Robi Axiata Limited as the resource person. The Dean, Faculty of Business, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva delivered a welcome speech. Dr. Charles explained the implications of different components of MIS in different areas of academics and business. He informed the audience about present trend of MIS curriculum in academics and expressed his gratitude & thanks to the resource person and organizers of the seminar. In his speech, Dr. Charles was optimistic to find pool of students taking MIS as major, both in the BBA and MBA program, being motivated form the seminar. MIS professionals are basically managers of data and information in the organization.
The guest speaker – Mr. Rana Shohel was introduced by Mr. Rezwanul Alam, Assistant Professor, department of MIS. Mr. Rana was delighted to carry on his presentation. He explained the different aspects of career perspectives in the field of MIS. He shed light on many useful information by providing many examples on the relevant topics. The audience thoroughly enjoyed his session and came to know about some realistic facts faced by MIS job seekers.
Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Director – MBA program expressed the vote of thanks. In his short message, he thanked the resource person – Mr. Rana Shohel for taking his precious time to come and visit AIUB. On behalf of the students, faculty and audience, he conveyed deep gratitude & thanks to the guest speaker. Furthermore, Dr. Nisar thanked Ms. Farheen Hasan, Dept. Head – Management, HR & MIS for organizing such a fruitful event.
Dr. Nisar Ahmed and Ms. Farheen Hasan, handed over the certificate of appreciation along with a gift to the honorable guest speaker of the seminar. The event ended with a concluding note by Mr. Rezwanul Alam, Assistant Professor of MIS.
