On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Center for VLSI and Embedded Systems (CVES) at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a seminar titled “Career Path to the Global Semiconductor Industry with ULKASEMI” at the Auditorium, D-Building, AIUB, supported by AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES). The seminar featured three distinguished speakers from ULKASEMI: Mr. Abdul Mubin Ahmed (Vice President of Engineering, ULKESEMI), Mr. Md. Muzammel Hossain (Senior Manager, Branding & PR, ULKASEMI), and Ms. Moon Sadia Dipthee (Director, Analog Layout Design, ULKASEMI).
The seminar primarily focused on the global skills pipeline for VLSI and microelectronics, highlighting career opportunities in digital and analog design, verification, and layout, while stressing the importance of a solid foundation in device physics, circuit theory, and HDL/EDA tools. The program starts with the introductory remarks by Dr. Shahriyar Masud Rizvi (Deputy Director, Center for VLSI and Embedded Systems (CVES), AIUB). Then, Mr. Abdul Mubin Ahmed highlighted industry expectations and collaboration opportunities; Mr. Md. Muzammel Hossain underscored professional branding, networking, and interview readiness for international roles; and Ms. Moon Sadia Dipthee shared insights from analog layout practice, encouraging inclusiveness and sustained problem-solving habits. Through practical examples, the speakers illustrated how semiconductor innovation underpins modern computing and communication, and how students can map coursework, projects, and internships to real-world roles.
The seminar concluded with an interactive five-question round, where winners received gifts, followed by a Q/A session addressing coursework, portfolio development, and industry research opportunities. Following the session, Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan (Professor, Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Professor, Director, Faculty of Engineering), Mr. Nafiz Ahmed Chisty (Associate Professor, Head, Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering) presented tokens of appreciation to the ULKASEMI speakers for their insightful contributions, while the guests also presented gifts to the respected faculty members. The event ended with a group photograph, capturing the collaborative spirit and inspiration shared among participants.
