SEMINAR ON ACCOUNTING & FINANCE PROFESSION: PROSPECTS & CHALLENGES

On April 13, 2017, a seminar titled “Accounting & Finance Profession: Prospects and Challenges” was organized by the Department of Accounting & Finance to give students an opportunity to link between academic and corporate world. The seminar was arranged by Niaz Mohammad, Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting Faculty of Business Administration. The main objective of this seminar was to prepare accounting and finance major students with necessary skills and knowledge. The resource Speaker was Tofayel Ahmed ACA, Assistant General Manager, Finance and Accounts, Summit Power Limited. Mr. Tofayel shared the functions of different departments in the organization and clearly mentioned the role of accounting and finance professionals. He also shared the practical experiences towards the students about the importance of professional degrees. He also emphasized various interview techniques among the students. Students from different courses like Intermediate Accounting and Advance Financial Accounting made this seminar effective.

The seminar was coordinated by Mohammad Faridul Alam, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Accounting & Finance with the kind presence of Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Pro VC and Dean, FBA. Other faculties of Accounting and Finance department were also present in this seminar. The Department of Accounting & Finance humbly appreciates the openhanded support extended by the AIUB management.
