On June 10, 2024, AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organised a seminar on “A Tour Inside System-On-Chip: 5G cellular park”, presented by the Office of Student Affairs, AIUB . The purpose of the seminar was to introduce 5G Cellular Park serves as a focal point for advancing the deployment and adoption of 5G networks and applications, driving innovation and economic growth in the telecommunications industry and beyond.

The event began with an inspiring address by Mr. Kefayet Ullah (Presidential Research Fellow, Florida International University,USA) where he explained the students about wireless product uses radio waves to transmit data between devices, enhancing mobility which involves the cellular concept, dividing areas into cells for efficient coverage. He began his speech by providing a brief knowledge about Radio Frequency Front End (RFFE) processes signals, while radio hardware, like antennas and receivers, enables transmission. Then he gave a demonstration on System-on-Chip (SoC), integrates all components onto one chip, optimizing performance and reducing power consumption. After that, he gave some insight into Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) in telecommunications processes to create highly efficient, domain-specific architectures for any application with a large amount of transistor integration. Finally, there was a Q/A session where he shared his students and research time which inspired the participants a lot. The event concluded with an insightful speech of Dr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin (Senior Associate Professor, Head Graduate Program, Faculty of Engineering) and handed over the token of appreciation to the honorable speaker.

The remarkable event culminated in a collective group photograph, capturing and immortalizing the unforgettable moments of the day. The goal of this event was in perfect harmony with the Sustainable Development Goal of Industry, Innovation and Infrastucture (SDG 9) .
