Department of English organized an interactive seminar on South Asian Literature in English on 25 February 2013 in Campus 7 of AIUB. The speaker of the seminar was Mr. Mashrur Shahid Hossain, Associate Professor from the Department of English, Jahangirnagar University. Under the title “Rooting, Routeing and Routing: Reading South Asian Writing in English” the seminar emphasized on the strive of the South Asian authors addressing the question of identity as well as rejecting and remaking the essentialized history of South Asian consciousness. The seminar was organized basically for the students of the Department of English, especially for those under the course: Contemporary South Asian Literature in English, with a motto to acquaint them with the voices from South Asia in the field of English literature. The teachers as well as the students from the Department enthusiastically attended the seminar. At the end of the seminar Mr. Hossain praised the passion and inquisitiveness of the students of the Department.
