The Department of Architecture at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a memorable event on September 16, 2025, at Annex 7, celebrating student creativity and honoring the legacy of the renowned sculptor Late Hamiduzzaman Khan, who was actively involved with teaching in Architecture Department since 2008. The event featured a Sculpture Studio Exhibition showcasing a wide range of student sculptural projects that reflected their dedication, creativity, and hard work throughout the semester.

The exhibition and workshop were organized under the supervision of the sculpture studio guides, Farzana Siddiqua, Md. Rashed Hasan and Nushrat-E-Hoque. The event served as a vibrant platform for the students to represent their sculptural works, engaging both peers and faculty members alike.

Following the exhibition, a Watercolor Workshop was conducted by distinguished painter and architect M M Maksud Biplop, who shared his techniques, insights, and personal experiences with the participants. The hands-on session provided students with a unique opportunity to explore watercolor as a medium under expert guidance. The event was graced by the Head of the Department M. Arefeen Ibrahim along with other faculty members, whose presence encouraged and inspired the students. Their support played a key role in the event’s success.

In remembrance of Hamiduzzaman Khan, whose contributions to the field of sculpture in Bangladesh remain unparalleled, the event stood as a heartfelt tribute. His legacy continues to inspire the next generation of artists and designers.

The gathering concluded with refreshments and informal discussions, fostering a sense of community and appreciation for the arts.
