The Department of Media and Mass Communication (MMC) of American International University –Bangladesh (AIUB) won the second prize of ROBI Young Journalist Contest jointly organized by Independent University, Bangladesh and ROBI Axiata Bangladesh Limited on July 5, 2012 at the Rabi Head Office in Gulshan.
Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of most of the public and private universities participated in the documentary making competition with the theme of ‘Youth Can Change’. Rajshahi University secured the first position while Independent University adjudged the third in the competition.
The team members, students of Media and Mass Communication department who participated in the competition were Tonmoy Ferdous,Tonmoy Lenerd Cruze, Sumaiya Khandakar, Farhan Asif, Nahida Sultana, Mahbuba Sultana, Kazi Awaz and Mosfiqur Rahman.
Faculty of MMC Department Md. Zahidul Islam supervised the overall production and AIUB Media Studio provided all-out support. In this contest, the AIUB team also produced a video documentary titled ‘Step Up’ on the theme. The team was awarded a Crest and Tk. 30 thousand as Prize Money.
