Students and faculty members of the American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) showcased commendable academic excellence at the International Conference on Advances in Physics (ICAP 2025), held on 17–18 December 2025. The conference was organized by the Department of Physics, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, Bangladesh.
From the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Arnab Barai, Nabajit Roy, Zarif Ibne Hamid, and Jonayed Al Mostafa took part in the conference under the supervision of Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain, Assistant Professor, Department of Natural Science (Physics), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), AIUB. All these students delivered oral presentations on their research, carried out under the AIUB-funded project (AIUB-FST-25-03-01), highlighting innovative contributions to contemporary physics research.
Adding to AIUB’s achievements, Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain received the Best Poster Award (3rd position) among 30 poster presentations, reflecting the high quality and impact of AIUB-led research conducted under the same AIUB-funded project (AIUB-FST-25-03-01), at an international platform.
AIUB’s interdisciplinary research engagement was further strengthened by the participation of students from the Department of Computer Science, Syed Sabit Hossain, who participated in the conference as an oral presenter under the supervision of Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain. In addition, Arizit Chaki Artha and Nazmus Sakib Sami, also affiliated with the Department of Computer Science, presented their research conducted under the supervision of Md. Mortuza Ahmmed, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, FST, AIUB.
Moreover, Md.Arafat Rashid Chad, from the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, presented his research work under the supervision of Dr. Md. Mozahar Ali, Associate Professor, Department of Natural Science (Physics), FST, AIUB. Finally, the students and faculty members visited the Nonlinear Optics Research Laboratory of the Department of Physics at SUST to enrich and exchange their knowledge and practical insights into advanced experimental research.
The active participation and notable accomplishments of AIUB faculty and students at ICAP 2025 underscore the university’s strong commitment to research excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global academic engagement. These achievements not only enhance AIUB’s academic reputation but also inspire students to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of science and technology.
