Reminiscing the Black Night 1971
The Black Night is one of the darkest days in the history of Bangladesh, and AIUB Performing Arts Club’s [APAC] open street musical act, ‘Black Night 1971’, arranged on the 25th of March’ 2013, after hours, portrayed the sacrifice and tribulations of the fateful night brilliantly.
Performed by the club members, the act showcased a musical visual representation of the historic events dating back to 1952 that led to the Black Night and eventually our Independence. Patriotic classics echoed through the open air, as the special light and sound effects brought the act to life. The ending note of the act was a promise from the youth of the nation to preserve and protect the spirit of Independence. In an attempt to light up the dark night, students, faculty members, and administration lit up candles in hope that the shadows of our past brighten our future.
Dr. Nisar Ahmed, the Associate Professor and Director of the MBA Program, along with Abdul Kader Nazmul, the Assistant Professor and Director In-Charge of the BBA Program and the Coordinator of the Office of Sports, both raised the National Flag on behalf of the faculty members, and brought the event to a close with the National Anthem.
