Reception of Freshers and Farewell to Graduating Students of Architecture

The students of Studio 3 and 4 of AIUB Architecture Department arranged an auspicious cultural event to welcome the freshers on Thursday, 23rd February 2012 at AIUB auditorium. On the same occasion they bid a warm farewell to the graduating students. The program was coordinated by the faculty members Tania Sharmin and Sumaya Islam.
The event started with the popular song “Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano Akuse February” to pay homage to the Language Martyrs for their contribution on the Language Movement in 1952. Rest of the program was packed with fun and number of  entertaining events including song, dance, poetry and stage play . The event was graced by the presence of honorable guests Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain [ Vice President, Academics] , Prof. Dr. A B M Siddique Hossain [Dean, Faculty of Engineering] and M. Arefeen Ibrahim [Coordinator of Architecture]. All faculty members of the department along with students from current batches participated in the event with full excitement and spirit. Graduating students shared their memories in the department while the freshers expressed their feelings of becoming a part of this wonderful architecture family. During the closing speech, Arefeen Ibrahim thanked all the participants and faculty members for their whole-hearted support and cooperation. The grand event ended with greetings to the freshers and light refreshments.
