Presentation by Architect Mustapha Khalid at Department of Architecture

Architect Mustapha Khalid Palash, one of the most leading contemporary architects in Bangladesh has presented his works on last Tuesday at Department of Architecture, AIUB. His dynamic and imaginative design is a great instance of fully developed creative concepts with a blend of sustainable and climate responsive design which results a number of award winning projects both in local and international arena. Arc. Mustapha Khalid’s significant projects include; Bashundhara City, the largest shopping mall in South Asia, Banglalink Head Office, Grameenphone Corporate Head Quarter, Nafi Tower (AKTel Head Office), The Westin Dhaka Hotel, Lab Aid Cardiac Care Hospital, Grand Delvistaa and many more. He has been awarded with Institute of Architects Bangladesh Award 1998, Architect of the Year Award (India) 2003, Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture Award 2007.His works have also been published in different international Books and Magazines. Architect Mustapha Khalid is a member of Institute of Architects Bangladesh,  International Associate Member of American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Tall Building Council (CTBUH). It was an opportunity for the students to get some insight of key issues of the design process particularly on high rise buildings. The presentation was followed by a very interactive question and answer session between the architect and the audience. Department Coordinator Arefeen Ibrahim along with other faculties was also present. Special thanks to Assistant professor Sudipta Barua and faculty Khondokar Asifuzzaman Razon for coordinating such a fruitful event.
