On May 7, 2025, the Department of Management & HRM, Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), organized an engaging poster competition titled “Environmental Impact of Business Activities & Achieving SDGs.” The event took place between Annex 2 and Annex 3 from 11:20 AM to 12:00 PM, and was formally inaugurated by Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean In-Charge of FBA.
As part of the course “Ethics, Sustainability, and Communication for Development,” the event was guided by Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Associate Professor, Department of Management and HRM. The competition featured participation from 6th semester students, who presented posters that explored the intersections between business practices, environmental impacts, and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A total of seven student groups showcased industry-specific posters focusing on sectors such as RMG, shipbreaking, cement, pharmaceuticals, and textiles. Their work reflected critical analysis of environmental challenges, SDG alignment—especially SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 13 (Climate Action)—and practical recommendations for sustainable business solutions.
The event was attended by all department heads and faculty members from various disciplines, who encouraged the students and provided valuable feedback. Evaluators recognized four groups for their outstanding contributions, based on content depth, presentation quality, and relevance to sustainable development.
The poster competition successfully highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability and ethical responsibility into business education. It equipped students with the knowledge, awareness, and commitment necessary to contribute meaningfully to the achievement of the SDGs in Bangladesh and beyond.
