A daylong poster competition titled   “Social Injustice, Violence and Social Disparity” was organized by the Department of Social Science at campus 7 on 8^th December, 2016. The event aimed at making FBA, FASS and Architecture students aware of various social issues of Bangladesh.  The competition created social awareness among the participants and other students at the AIUB.

The session was inaugurated by Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Pro Vice Chancellor of the university and Professor Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, in presence of the Head of the Department of Social Science, Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam, and Faculty member Dr. Buddha Dev Biswas, Ms. Farhana Afroz and Ms. Shaira Matin. 

Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam delivered the welcome speech. Later, the program became graceful with the presence of Mr Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Editor in Chief and CEO of ETV, as he joined as the Chief Guest and shared his thoughts and experiences with students. Mr. Bulbul was impressed to see such creative and innovative posters. The participants greatly cheered Mr. Bulbul’s motivational speech.

 Among all sections of Basics in Social Science, 30 posters were selected and displayed in the poster Competition. Five best teams were given appreciation certificates by the honorable Chief Guest. The judges panel included Mr. Borendra Tripura, Ms. Shaila Ahmed, Mr. Rubayat Hashemi and several members from AIUB-IQAC. The event ended successfully with the enthusiastic participation of all the students and generous cooperation of the AIUB management.
