A daylong poster competition on “Eliminate Discrimination, Cruelty & Immorality: To Protect Human Rights and Dignity” was organized by the Department of Social Science at the Multipurpose Hall ( Annex 7, AIUB Permanent Campus) on 22nd November, 2018. The event aimed at making FBA, FASS and Architecture students aware of various social issues of Bangladesh.  This competition created social understanding and awareness among the participants and other students at the AIUB. The session was inaugurated by the Professor Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Science, in presence of the Head of the Department of Social Science, Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam, and other faculty member Dr. Buddha Dev Biswas, Ms. Farhana Afroz and Ms. Shaira Matin.  
     The prize giving session started with the welcome address by Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam. Among all sections of Basics in Social Sciences, 47 posters were selected and displayed in the poster Competition. Five best teams were given prizes along with certificates of appreciation by the honorable Chief Guest, Ms. Machiko Yamamura, Second Secretary & Head, Cultural Affairs, Embassy of Japan. Ms Machiko was impressed to see such creative and innovative posters. Later the program became more graceful with the presence of Honorable Vice Chancellor of the AIUB Dr. Carmen Z.  Lamagna, and Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Vice President Academics. Ms Machiko Yamamura, shared her thoughts and experiences with students. She provided some valuable information for student scholarships in Japan. The participants greatly cheered the Ms. Machiko’s motivational speech. The judges panel included Ms. Shaila Ahmed, Ms Farhana Rafiq, Shihab Saqib and Mohammad Foysal Chowdhury. 
The event ended successfully with the enthusiastic participation of all the students and generous cooperation of the AIUB management.
