Poster competition titled “Enhancing Social and Cultural Awareness”

Saturday 26 April 2014 A daylong poster competition titled “Enhancing Social and Cultural Awareness” was organized by the Department of Social Science in campus 7 on 17th April, 2014. The event aimed at making the FASS students aware of various social issues of Bangladesh. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Science, in presence of other faculty members, Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam, Dr. Buddha Dev Biswas, Ms. Shaira Matin, Mr. Zahidul Islam and Farhana Zaman inaugurated the event followed by a welcome note given by. Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam, the Head of the Department of Social Science. The participants greatly cheered the Dean’s motivational speech. Later the program became graceful with the presence of Dr. Charles C. Villanueva the respected Pro Vice Chancellor of the university.  Ms. Nasim Ferdous, a distinguished former ambassador, was also present as the special guest who conveyed her utmost satisfaction with the students’ work. Dr. Charles concluded his speech with the expectation of a follow up session of the event concentrating on the solutions. About fifty-two groups participated in this event out of which ten best teams were given certificates of appreciation. The honorable judges list included Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam, Dr. Faheem Hasan Shahed, Ms. Farhana Rafiq, Mr. Rezwanul Haque Rana and Mr. Mehedi Kaiser Pabitra. The event ended successfully with the enthusiastic participation of all the students and generous cooperation of the AIUB management.
