On November 15, 2018 a daylong poster competition was organized by Department of Economics at AIUB Permanent campus premises.  The programme started at 11 am with the theme “Process, Evolution and Revolution of Economic Development” and in total 16 groups have participated with 5/6 students in each group.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain, Pro Vice-Chancellor, AIUB. He shared his valuable thoughts on importance of such competition. He said, “Learning only theory is not going to be enough in this competitive global market rather practical knowledge and implementation of theory is required”. He was delighted to see application of critical thinking power of the students and appreciate them for their efforts. Students were inspired by the presence of Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, AIUB. Dr. Tazul Islam discussed in detail with all groups while sharing his valuable observations, providing necessary suggestions, and motivation to the participants. A board of judges evaluated the performance of the participant groups based on their presentation and communication skills, efforts, and ability to confront questions regarding their posters. After several stages of judgments by the honorable panel of judges, top 3 posters were selected for final awarding.

Ms. Farhana Rafiq (Assistant Professor, Department of Economics) acted as a lead organizer with Mr. Rezwanul Haque (Assistant Professor) as co-organizer of this programme. Ms. Morium Khatun (Assistant Professor), Ms. Suraiya Jabeen Bhuiyan (Lecturer) and Mr. Nasir Uddin (Lecturer) also graced ceremony with their presence and efforts. The programme came to its end with the prize giving session where the winners were awarded with a small gift and certificate of appreciation.
