Department of English at AIUB organized an afternoon session of bilingual poetry reading & songs titled “Poetry Pool”. Poets, faculty members, students & invited guests from different universities read out their poems from their published books on 16 September, 2015 (Wednesday) at Seminar Room of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Building (Campus 7). Professor Dr. Charles Villanueva, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of FASS, M Hamidul Haque, Head of the Department of English, faculty members and students from English and other departments were present and enjoyed the event. At the beginning, the guests were welcomed with a Tagore’s song sung by Parama Shabnam Kuntala, faculty, Department of English, and at the end of the session after an encouraging speech the honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor thanked the guests with a token gift for attending this event.

The event was actualized for the strenuous effort from Asif Kamal, Theotonious Gomes and Shihab Saqib, the faculty members of the Department of English, AIUB.

The final thanks go to the management of AIUB for all out supports to make this event successful.
