Philippine Ambassador Visited AIUB

His Excellency Philippine Ambassador Designate to the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Hon. Bahnarim Abu Guinomla  visited the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). After about 2 months of posting in Bangladesh, the Ambassador was curious to visit the university headed by Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna who is also a Filipina. The success story of the university has evoked the interest especially when Filipinos’ inherent talent, ingenuity and competence are at stake. On hand to receive the Ambassador, the Vice Consul, Ms. Mary Grace V. Villamayor, and other staff of the Embassy, Ms. Marife and Mr. Max were 2 other Filipinos who are also at the helm of the university management, namely: Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Mr. Danny Morgia, Director of the IT Operation. Mr. Lutfar Rahman, Director of the Public Relation Office and Col. Mawla joined in welcoming the Ambassador. The Ambassador and his party were toured to the different campuses of the university for him to see personally the structure, facilities, the physical infra, the IT system  and other best features of the university which impressed the Ambassador and his colleagues. They were also briefed on the academic programs, development programs and projects funded by international organizations and the accreditation of the business programs by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) which is based in the Philippines and a member of the Asia Pacific Quality Network. The tour ended in the Office of the Vice Chancellor together with Ms. Dulce Corazon Lamagna and Ms. Carlin Noelle Lamagna warmly welcome the Ambassador and party. They were briefed by Dr. Lamagna on the various activities of the university such as the convocations, the visit to the Bangladesh President’s Office, and many other information including the visit of former Philippine President Fidel Ramos who twice graced the convocation as the Distinguished Guest Speaker. It was a cordial and very inspiring visit to further foster the relationship of the university and the Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh marked with mutual interest.
