The New Faculty Orientation Program for Fall 2009-10 semester was held on September 1 & 2, 2009. This time the program was scheduled for tow days. Day-1 the program was held at the Auditorium of campus-1, and Day-2 program was held at the Cisco lab of campus-4.
On day-1, a total number of 34 new faculty members attended at the program. The program was segmented into four sessions and inaugurated by the pro-vice chancellor, Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain. After his welcome speech and a brief presentation on the overall activities of the university, Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain, the vice president for academic affairs, took the floor and delivered his presentation.
Among the top officials of the university, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Dean of FASS & Business & Director of ACRE, Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean of Science Faculty, Mr. Neaz Ahmed, Professor of Business faculty, Mr. Tareque Moudud, Director of OPA, Mr. Maksudur Rahman Sarkar, Director of AQAC, Lt. Col. Golam Maula, Director of Admin, Mr. Manzur H. Khan, Coordinator of OSA, Mr. Abdul Kader Nazmul, Coordinator of OS, Mr. Ziarat H. Khan, Coordinator of Publications and Mr. Sadiquz Zaman, Deputy Librarian were present there to welcome the new members and also made presentations regarding the vision, mission, goals and activities of their respective departments.
During the last session of the program the new faculty members got the opportunity to meet the honorable Founder and Chairman, board of trustees, Dr. Anwarul Abedin. The day-1 program came to an end with his precise welcome note.
On day-2, the program began at 11.00 am in the morning. The Director of IT operations, Mr. Danilo G. Morgia made a two hour orientation session with the new faculty members explaining the IT resources and services available to them. |
