NASA Space Apps Challenge 2016

Department of EEE, Department of CS and Department of COE of American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) jointly hosted a campaign for “NASA Space Apps Challenge 2016" at Room-266, Building-2, AIUB, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm on 16th March, 2016. The campaign on “NASA Space Apps Challenge 2016” was a very informative events arranged for the students.

Dr. Khandaker Tabin Hasan (Associate Professor and Head, Graduate Program, Department of CS, AIUB) provided the inaugural speech emphasising the importance of taking part in competitions and discussed how to come up with new ideas and making them successful. He also motivated the students for contributing to their motherland and concluded with thanking all.

The campaign was divided into two phases. First, the honourable key speaker Mr. Ariful Hasan Opu (CEO at e-soft & doctorsbd.com, Director of Bangladesh Association of Software& Information services (BASIS), Convener of NASA Space Apps Challenge 2016) took the floor and demonstrated BASIS & NASA Space Apps Challenge 2016. He spoke about the advantages of participating in challenges and then briefly gave a description of the challenges which were supposed to be in the competition. These challenges were Aeronautics, Space station, Solar system, Technology, Earth and Journey to mars. He ended his speech encouraging students to participate in the event and wishing for their enlighten future. In the second phase of the event, Mr. Mahmud Moosa Syed (Coordinator BASIS Students Forum & Convener of BASIS Student Forum BRAC University Chapter) explained how to participate in the challenge with an exclusive multimedia presentation and provided the registration link for the students. He also discussed about the requirements for participating NASA Space Apps Challenge 2016 and also mentioned the sites which students could use to share their problems with them.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Director & Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) gave the motivational ending speech which inspired the participants much for participating in NASA Space Apps Challenge 2016. He also encouraged participants for their effort to arrange the campaign. Later on, he handed over souvenirs to the honourable speakers as a mark of respect to their effort to make the event successful and thanked all the people who were present at the campaign.
