The Department of Public Health of AIUB recently organized a field trip for students of MPH Program for Spring Semester 2014-2015 to Central Police Hospital (CPH), Rajarbagh, Dhaka.
Dr Sadiqur Rahman, Director, Dr. A.K.M Nizamuddin, Superintendent, Dr. Md. Emdadul Haque, ADC, Dr. A.B. M. Khurshed Alam Bhuiyan, RMO and Dr. Md. Reazul Haq of CPH, were present during the field trip. A briefing session followed by an interactive question and answer session on mission, vision, roles, responsibilities, capabilities, and future plan of CPH for quality and standard health services to members of Bangladesh Police was held.
At the end of the briefing session in the conference hall, the students were divided in two groups; each under a hospital physician who worked as a guide. Students were taken to different areas of the hospital to show them the hospital management system, ongoing patient care facilities in different units namely Medicine, Surgical, OPD Patient Care Management, Online Patient Registration Process, Unique Automation system, Pharmacy Unit and Medicine Dispensing Process in different counters, Hospital Security System and State of Art of Water Treatment Plant,
The field trip ended with lunch followed by a Vote of Thanks by the Central Police Hospital Authority.
This field trip would definitely help the MPH students to identify, interpret, and analyze the major issues and problems of healthcare management system and broaden their understanding and critical thinking of principles and techniques in conducting professional research in healthcare management system of a good hospital.
