MoUs Signed with AUAP Delegation at AIUB

Competition makes us faster, but collaboration makes us better. Great changes are hardly ever achieved by one person, but rather by the efforts and cooperation of many minds together. And in its pursuit of constant improvement, sustainable growth, and progressive development, the American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) has always worked towards establishing constructive partnerships and affiliations in higher education.

During a visit on Wednesday, 16 November 2022 by a delegation of member institutes of the Association of the Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), new strategic alliances were formed with reputed institutions from across the world. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were endorsed with the Southville International School & Colleges (SISC, Philippines), represented by Dr. Genevieve Ledesma-Laurel, the Chief Executive Mentor of SISC and the Chairman of the Southville Global Education Network (SGEN), Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF, Philippines), represented by Dr. Angeline Mae P. Juan, the Vice President for Finance of VMUF and Dr. Dulce Marie B. Solis, the Dean for the College of Education at VMUF, Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU, Philippines), represented by Dr. Rodehlia M. Legasto-Macaspac, the Assistant Dean for the Graduate School of OLFU, San Pedro College (SPC, Philippines), represented by Engr. Irene P. Jamora, the Director for the ICT Center of SPC and Mr. John Paul C. Silva, the Information System Analyst of SPC. The occasion also provided an opportunity for an interactive dialogue with Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU, Philippines), represented by Dr. Peter P. Laurel, the President of LPU, along with Center for Technical and Higher Education (CETYS University, Mexico), represented by Dr. Fernando León García, the President of CETYS University and Prof. Dr. Scott Venezia, the Chief International Officer at CETYS University, for future endeavors between the institutions under the existing agreement.

The MoUs were endorsed by Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, the Vice Chancelor of AIUB, in the presence of Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin, the Founder Member and Chairman of the AIUB Board of Trustees. The signing ceremony was witnessed by members of the AUAP Secreteriat, Prof. Dr. Ricardo P. Pama, the Secretary General of AUAP, Ms. Supaporn Chuangchid, the Executive Secretary of AUAP, and Mr. Krittiphattharaphong Punsuchart, the Administrative Officer of AUAP, along with several academic and administrative officials of AIUB. The delegation also toured the campus during their visit, including various student activities, noteworthy aspects of the premises, and an engaging discussion on initiatives of impactful research, curriculum development, and global exchanges to add value and augment the potential of higher education for the young leaders of tomorrow.
