MMC Department's Daylong Photography Workshop at Panchaboti Garden

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, the Department of Media and Mass Communication (MMC) at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a field trip and a daylong photography workshop at the enchanting Panchaboti Garden in Gazipur for MMC students. Under the guidance of Mr. Niaz Majumdar and Ms. Nasrin Akter, faculty members of MMC department, the field trip aimed to enhance students' photography and visual storytelling skills amidst the breathtaking natural scenery.

Panchaboti Garden, renowned for its picturesque landscapes featuring diverse flora, fauna, and water bodies, provided an ideal setting for students to explore and refine their craft. Beyond photography, the trip offered valuable learning experiences, immersing students in the art of capturing compelling narratives through imagery.

As part of their Digital Photography and Photojournalism course curriculum, students received hands-on training in photography techniques and storytelling principles. The field trip served as a midterm project, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context. Each student was assigned individual and group tasks, contributing to their midterm assessment.

A standout moment of the trip was the students' special report on an iconic Mud House, designed by renowned architect Mr. Nahas Ahmed Khalil. Constructed using natural materials, the Mud House exemplified sustainability and traditional craftsmanship, beautifully captured by the students' lenses. Special thanks to Mr. O.K. Chowdhury, owner of Panchaboti Garden, for graciously allowing MMC students to explore their project work within the garden's captivating environment.
