The Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) and Business Analytics, Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) organized an educational study tour to the Bangladesh Military Museum on 27th August 2026 for students enrolled in the Management Information Systems (MIS) and Network Resource Management course. The tour was organized by Mr. Danilo G. Morgia, Senior Assistant Professor & Director, IT Operations, and Mr. Md. Mehzabul Hoque Nahid, Senior Assistant Professor & Head, Department of MIS and Business Analytics. The program began with an opening speech by Mr. Danilo G. Morgia, who outlined the objectives of the visit and encouraged students to observe first-hand how information systems and network infrastructure function within a real institutional setting.

During the visit, students toured the museum's galleries and observed the technologies used to preserve, manage, and present Bangladesh's military heritage, including digital displays, multimedia presentations, and network-enabled security systems. Following the tour, students were divided into groups and given a structured questionnaire that required them to relate their observations directly to concepts covered in their MIS and NRM courses. Each group examined the museum's information needs, the type of database or information system suited to managing its artifact collection, the network resources and monitoring practices likely in use, potential cybersecurity risks, and opportunities to apply emerging technologies such as AI, AR, and VR to enrich the visitor experience. Groups were further tasked with proposing features of a conceptual "Smart Military Museum," covering network infrastructure, cloud services, IoT, and visitor management systems.

The event concluded with a closing speech by Mr. Md. Mehzabul Hoque Nahid, Head of the Department of MIS, who thanked the students for their active participation and highlighted how site visits of this kind bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world practice. The study tour gave students a valuable opportunity to see MIS and NRM principles in action within a public institution, reinforcing their understanding of information systems design, network resource planning, and cybersecurity, while strengthening their ability to analyze and recommend practical technology solutions for real organizations.
