< table> < table> Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering arranged a daylong workshop titled Microcontroller Workshop & Introduction to Robotics on 23rd February, 2012 in collaboration with the Engineering Students Association of Bangladesh (ESAB). The workshop was about the Microcontroller architecture, interface in embedded systems, microcontroller programming and introduction to robotics and automation systems. Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering was present at the workshop and delivered his inaugural speech. Prof. M.A. Quaiyum, Register, Mr. Rinku Basak, Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Dept. of EEE, Dr. M. A. Mannan, Assistant Professor, Mr. Mohammad Nasir Udddin, Assistant Professor and other senior Lecturers Mr. SK Rubayiat Tousif, Mr. Akram Hossain, Mr. Abrar Faisal, Mr. Nafis Imtiaz Karim, Mr. Salman Quaiyum were also present at the workshop. The main instructors of the workshop were Mr. Sajid M. Chowdhury, Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, BUET and Mr. Upol Mahmud, Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, BUET. Focusing mainly on AVR Microcontrollers, these two instructors conducted their training sessions with a highly interactive atmosphere.   Around 100 students from the Dept. of EEE, AIUB and from the other universities took part in the workshop spontaneously. A project team from CUET Robo Mechatronics Association-RMA showed a voice controlled robot and describes its functions and fabrication algorithms. Mr. Kazi Safwath Abedin from AIUB showed a universal development board which can be used as an instrument of learning the microcontroller interface for the novices. Depending on the instructors’ lectures, a quick quiz contest was held during the workshop. At the end of the workshop, Mr. Rinku Basak, Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Dept. of EEE, AIUB delivered his ending speech by inspiring the Engineering novices to arrange and take part in such workshops with a view to ignite themselves in the way of technical and Engineering advancement. After that, he distributed the prizes among the quiz contest winners and gave away the certificates. The whole workshop was coordinated by Mr. Mashrur Hossain Shurid, Central Representative of ESAB. Mr. Md. Arif Raihan Maahi, General Secretary of ESAB, Mr. Fahim Tahmid Chowdhury, Central President of ESAB and other members of ESAB were also present during the workshop.
