Memorial Ceremony held for AIUB Faculty Late Sohrab Rahman Khan

 
Venue: Auditorium, American International University-Bangladesh Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a Memorial Service for Late Mr. Sohrab Rahman Khan who joined his Creator on June 20, 2013. Mr. Khan was a faculty at the Department of Economics of AIUB who joined the university in May of 2008. The ceremony was held at the AIUB auditorium and was attended by students, faculties, as well as family and friends of Mr. Khan. Conducted by Maimun Ur Rashid Mustafa, a former student of Mr. Khan, the ceremony started off with recitation from the Holy Quran. Then a poem written by one of the AIUB support staff for Mr. Khan was recited for the audience. This was followed by reminiscence by Adiba Shehraj, also a former student of Mr. Khan. Memories were also recalled by his fellow colleagues, Mr. Rubyyat Hashmi, Ms. Farhana Zaman, Mr. Shawkat Ali, Prof. Dr. A. N Neaz, Dr. Tazul Islam (Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences) and Dr. Charles C. Villanueva (Dean, Faculty of Business Administration).  Mr. Khan’s brother Zeeshan expressed his gratitude for the tribute paid to Mr. Khan on behalf of his family. Dr. Tofazzel Hossain (Vice President, Academics and Dean, Faculty of Science) handed over the Condolence Book full of heartfelt wishes for the departed soul of Mr. Khan. The program ended up with a prayer for the salvation of Mr. Khan’s soul. Mr. Sohrab Rahman Khan was born on February 25, 1975; he was the grandson of renowned political personality Mr. Ataur Rahman Khan. Mr. Khan completed his undergraduate studies in USA and postgraduate in Malaysia. He was only 38. He is survived by his wife, two children, father, mother, brother and host of friends and well-wishers. May Allah bless his soul and grant him Jannatul Ferdous.
