Networking goes beyond just exchanging information and ideas. It’s about bringing people together to collaborate in building long term relationships. Those were the aspirational words of Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, the honorable Vice Chancellor of the American International University – Bangladesh [AIUB], as the Chair of the Networking Session at the 1st AUAP-IAUP Joint International Conference 2018, held in Surabaya, Indonesia. And leading by example, on the 11th of July 2018, AIUB inked a total of 13 Memorandums of Understanding [MoUs] with esteemed academic institutions from across the world. The signing ceremony was performed by Dr. Lamagna, on behalf of AIUB, along with Dr. Catherine Q. Castañeda, the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Adamson University (AdU), Kakha Shengelia, the President of Caucasus University (CU), Dr. Fernando León Garcia, the Rector of the Centre for Technical & Higher Education (CETYS), Asst. Prof Dr. Janjira Wongkhomthong, the President of the Christian University of Thailand (CUT), Henry Reiser, the President of the College of New Caledonia (CNC), Prof. Thandwa Zizwe Mthembu, the President of the Durban University of Technology (DUT), Dr. Leon R. Ramos Jr., the Executive Director of Linkages & International Affairs at Lyceum of the Phillippines University (LPU), Ichiro Tanioka, the President of the Osaka University of Commerce (OUC), Dr. Rhonda T. Padilla, the President of the Pan Pacific University (PPU), Dr. Florabelle B. Patosa, the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at the Samar State University (SSU), an administrative representatve of the Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Prof. Dr. Andreas Zehetner, the Vice President at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (FH Upper Austria), and Prof. Joniarto Parung, the Rector of the University of Surabaya (UBaya). The collaborating institutions agreed on opening the platform for joint cooperation in areas of research, academic development, and exchange of staff and students, expressing their eager interest in actualizing the numerous opportunities that this agreement opens up for the student and staff of all the participating partners, looking forward to getting to work on some of the prospective projects and initiatives in the near future.
