Meeting of Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

A meeting of the Award Coordinators of Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award was held at the Hotel Washington on June 29, 2009. Ms. Sultana Kamal, renowned social activist and former advisor to the caretaker government presided over the meeting. Professor Shamima Karim Choudhury of University of Dhaka was present as a special guest and also as an Award Coordinator. Among the Award Coordinators of all the participating institutions of Dhaka, Mr. Abdul Kader Nazmul, Coordinator, Office of Sports, Mr. Manzur H Khan, Coordinator, Office of Student Affairs and Ms. Tahziba Nasir Chowdhury, Senior Executive, Office of Student Affairs were present from AIUB. The agenda of the meeting were:
1.         Successful completion of the 1st Batch of Bronze Award in Bangladesh,
2.         Initiation of 2nd Batch of Bronze and 1st Batch of Silver Award in Bangladesh,
3.         Upcoming Adventurous Journey Location of Silver Award and
4.         Opportunities of Voluntary Services. Award Leaders shared their experiences and thoughts about the successfully completed very 1st Batch of Award Program in Bangladesh.

From AIUB, 12 students have successfully completed the First Batch of Bronze Award. They were awarded the certificate on 31st May 2009. 11 AIUB students have enrolled in the 1st Batch of Silver Award and 16 in 2nd Batch of Bronze Award.
